We were in Nassau again today. I thought I’d do another walking tour of island to check it out. I like Bahamas except that it’s pricey. A coconut costs something like $5. Considering the same thing costs less than $1 in Malaysia, that’s pricey. Fuck, I should have just gone and plucked my own coconuts. There are coconut trees pretty much everywhere after all.
After some walking around, we jumped on the ferry to Paradise Island. It’s one of those beautiful beaches with gorgeous blue water but way too many tourists. But I didn’t care. I just wanted to have a nap under the sun on the beach. Just another hard day at the office.
On the way back, I was starving and in a lapse of judgment ordered a Big Mac combo from McDonalds. This must be a new low for me, breaking not only my 2nd rule of travel (do not eat fast food made by corporations) but breaking a personal rule of never eating meat-flavored cardboard.
Not only that but I have a problem with McDonalds molesting the English language. “I’m loving it” is simply incorrect. It’s something Borat would say. The verb “love” is a stative verb. Therefore, we do not use it as a progressive or continuous verb. When we say we love something it is a state not a continuous action. We either love something or we do not.

Apart from that, I seem to have adapted to cruise ship life in the most unexpected way. I now don’t mind fast food, I shop at Walmart, I don’t recycle and I no longer care about geo-political issues. I think I’m devolving into a “Republican”. I wonder if this means I’m going to start loving Sarah Palin.
